We are here to help you! Click on the section related to your question.
What do I need for my lessons?
Comfortable clothing to exercise, water and a racquet (If you don't have one let us know we can usually give you one temporarily). We have all the balls and equipment necessary to teach the lesson.
What happens if it rains?
In the cases where the court is wet due to rain the lesson will be cancelled. Determination of wether the lesson is cancelled due to rain will be made by the coach and in some situations will happen up to 2 hours before the lesson actually occurs if a change in weather forecast is expected. It is common in Texas for tennis courts to dry after 1.5 hours of sun/wind exposure, after being completely wet.
When is it too hot or cold outside to play tennis?
When the wind chill factor is less than 35° F there will be no practice. That equates to 49° F and winds of more than 12 MPH. You can calculate chill factor here: www.mste.uiuc.edu/dildine\wind_chill
Children 12 and Under: No practice when temperature exceeds 90˚ F and/or heat index is 95˚ F or higher.
Adults: No practice when temperature exceeds 95˚ F and/or heat index is 100˚ F or higher.
Use this table to assess the heat index: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/heat/heat_index.shtml
Something came up and I can attend the lesson, how do I cancel?
Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a make-up lesson (for definition of a make-up lesson, please see below). Please provide a written notification to info@francotennisacademy.com
No shows or failure to notify the coach/academy within 24 hours is considered a forfeited lesson.
No more than 1 cancellations for every 5 lessons. (Excludes Cancellation due to weather)
How do I schedule a make up lesson?
Any lessons cancelled at least 24 hours ahead will receive a make-up lesson at a time convenient to both the teacher and the student. Typically, make-up lessons take place at an alternate time/day within the week.
Make-up lessons not used after 1 months will be considered forfeited.
What should I do if I want to take a small break from tennis lessons?
Should you choose to take a break, unused lessons can be banked for you for a period of 3 months. Unused lessons after that time will be considered forfeited.
What should I do if I don't want to take lessons any longer?
Should you decide to stop taking lessons altogether, please give 2 weeks written notification to andy@francotennisacademy.com
