Andy was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. During his high school years, Andy practiced with top junior players and under the direction of coach Omar Cuervo (Colombian National Fed Cup Coach). He went on to reach a high singles ranking of #17 nationally in singles and was a Doubles National Champion.
Andy played College tennis at Limestone College in South Carolina and later transferred to Florida International University where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree. In 2004 and 2005 Andy was hired by Camp Winaukee to teach during the summer in their intensive tennis program, while working there he had the chance to teach children from 5 to 12 years of age. Since then Andy has taught tennis to children and adults focusing on methodologies that guarantee wellness, fun and learning.
